Free EDI online is a web-based interactive service implemented using DHTML, XML as well as Archintel EDI Software SIT-Mini server and SIT-Maker.
It only requires a browser with Javascript, we prefer Microsoft Explorer but Netscape is good too. No ActiveX or Applet are loaded.
FreeEDI is designed to be self explaining, using intuitive commands and simple interaction, because user must learn it without any training. We are sure you will be able to send a message after this tutorial.

First (entry) page

The screen is splitted in 2 frames: top frame contains with menu buttons and central/main frame contains dynamic content of the in progress action.
That content could be document, configuration or control forms, depending from user interaction. All fields have context help showed when mouse is over the field, control panel option can disable this feature when it is not apreciated or when user is expert.

FreeEDI commands are organized on 2 lines and 3 groups, each group is drawed using the same color. They are:

1. Group 1 Document Trasmission, on the left of second line. Those functionalities are related to document creation, like start new document, fillout header, detail rows and summary, document check and delivery. This features are available for all users, subscribed users (standard or special) have mode message types.
2. Group 2 Incoming Document, on the right of second line. Those functions are related to manage received documents like read incoming messages from mailbox, convert from EDI to FlatFile and Printout format, download and/or view results. Those features are available for subscribed users only.
3. Group 3 Control Panels, on first row. Those functionalities manage the Trading Partners addressee, the Document transaction log, the sent/received document archive, the account and FreeEDI options.
